  • Welcome to Hackensack,  Located just 50 minutes north of Brainerd and 50 minutes south of Bemidji, with the headwaters of the Mississippi River a mere 30 minutes away. Hackensack, Minnesota is more than just a scenic Northwoods getaway—it's a vibrant community with events that bring people together all year long.

Visitors and residents alike enjoy access to over 100 lakes all within a 10-mile radius and the legendary Paul Bunyan Trail runs right through the heart of town. Hackensack offers year-round recreation—from fishing and boating in the summer to snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter.

The iconic Lucette statue stands proudly in town, a symbol of local pride and folklore. Whether you're here for a weekend getaway, a seasonal escape, or to put down roots, Hackensack offers a peaceful, friendly atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home.

Hackensack hosts three major annual events that highlight its fun-loving spirit and strong local pride. Back to Hack, held each January, kicking off the year with winter festivities, including a fishing contest, medallion hunt, Frostbite Ur Fanny 2.5 mile run/walk, bonfire, fireworks, and family-friendly activities that embrace the snowy season. The second Wednesday in July begins Sweetheart Days celebrating Hackensack’s legendary Lucette with a week full of events, including a car & motorcycle show, vendor fair, cornhole tournament, parade, fireworks, live music, and a community-wide celebration of summer. Wrapping up the season is the Chainsaw Event the last weekend of September, where talented carvers from across the region transform logs into stunning works of art during this unique and crowd-pleasing weekend. Enjoy the All American Lumberjack Show and take part in the auction of the carvings!

No matter the season, Hackensack knows how to bring people together and make memories.
